Master Electrician / Production Assistant

Reports to: Production Manager and Artistic Director
Status: Part-Time (average 20 hours/week; includes nights and weekends)
Compensation: $25,000 annual salary

Position Overview

Redhouse Arts Center seeks a versatile and skilled Master Electrician/Production Assistant to join our production team. This hybrid role combines technical leadership in lighting and sound with hands-on support across all production areas. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, solutions-oriented professional with a strong background in theatrical production and a commitment to supporting a wide range of artistic programming.

Key Responsibilities

As Master Electrician (ME):

  • Oversee the implementation of lighting and sound designs for Redhouse productions, education programs, and rental events as needed.
  • Execute all lighting and sound system installations, including hangs, focuses, strikes, and general maintenance.
  • Maintain and inventory all lighting and sound equipment and supplies; manage repairs and replacements.
  • Coordinate the purchase and organization of consumables (e.g., gels, gobos, gaffer tape, Sharpies).
  • Plan and implement power distribution and circuiting for all lighting and audio equipment.
  • Collaborate with designers to document system configurations, addressing, patching, and cueing.
  • Program lighting control consoles based on designer paperwork and production needs.
  • Design and manage repertory lighting plots for in-house events and outside groups as required.
  • Coordinate the set-up and execution of video recording, projections, and streaming for in-house events and outside groups as required
  • Train Stage Management to conduct daily pre-show light checks.
  • Stay current with industry technology and safety standards, including ADA and OSHA compliance.

As Production Assistant (PA):

  • Provide hands-on support in scenic construction, painting, props, and general production operations.
  • Assist with load-ins, load-outs, strikes, and maintenance of production spaces.
  • Help set up spaces for rehearsals, performances, and rentals.
  • Participate in production meetings and collaborate with the full production team.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Theater or related field, or equivalent professional experience (minimum 4 years).
  • Proficient with theatrical lighting, sound, rigging, and related equipment.
  • Working knowledge of lighting and audio control systems and software.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment; comfort working at heights.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Leadership experience and supervisory ability preferred.
  • Technologically proficient; familiarity with drafting tools, QLab, and ETC systems a plus.

Marketing Manager

Reports to: Executive Director

Position Overview

The Redhouse Arts Center Marketing Manager coordinates marketing, public relations, sales, promotions, and audience engagement functions for the organization. This full-time position reports to the Executive Director and implements the marketing and public relations strategies for Redhouse. Working collaboratively with the Executive Director, Artistic Director, and the Director of Education, the Marketing Manager implements an annual marketing, public relations, and customer service strategy to ensure Redhouse meets its attendance and revenue goals, and to ensure Redhouse is well represented in media locally, regionally and nationally as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with Redhouse Sr. Team to build public interest in all theatre and educational programs, as well as strengthen and promote the brand locally, regionally, and nationally.
  • Creation and implementation of new marketing strategies in coordination with the Redhouse Sr. Team.
  • Design and execution of promotional materials including print advertising, e-blasts, season brochures, venue signage and media releases.
  • Community marketing efforts including outreach to new and diverse audiences, maintaining a front facing community presence.
  • Ensuring the Redhouse website is updated, current, and accurate.
  • Creation and posting of all social media outreach and managing social media strategy and accounts.
  • Creation and dissemination of marketing materials as needed and on a timely basis including posters, fliers, brochures, social media content, videos, programs, cast fliers, etc..
  • Ensuring all marketing / public relations materials are accurate for content, and grammar including all print, website, social media, e-news, etc.
  • Coordination of season subscription media campaign.
  • Creation of season playbills and related ad sales.
  • Managing of all PR communication with 8+ stations, including radio and television, an including inviting reviewers to productions.
  • Collaborating with Executive Director to determine and create ideal contracts with PR partners to promote Redhouse programming.
  • Working with staff to maintain archive of photos and video clips of all Redhouse programming and events.
  • Occasional work in box office, including some evenings for shows and events.
  • Assistance in development and coordination of promotional events.
  • Other duties as assigned to enhance the mission of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years marketing experience, preferably within the performing arts
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, Canva, Google Sheets, WordPress, Mailchimp, and
  • AudienceView, or related graphic design and ticketing software
  • Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X, Tiktok, etc.
  • Experience with social media scheduling tools such as Buffer, Hootsuite, and Later.
  • Photography, video recording and editing skills a plus
  • Impeccable integrity and a strong work ethic
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Excellent customer service and human relations skills
  • Team player
  • The ability to exercise good judgment, self-start, and work independently
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

After School Academics and Enrichment Instructor

Position Type: Contract

CONTRACT PERIOD:

This is a contract position with the possibility of renewal and/or promotion, pending a positive Instructional Performance Review and continued funding (up to five years).

JOB SUMMARY:

The Redhouse Arts Center is a nonprofit, multi-arts organization dedicated to the production and presentation of interdisciplinary works, theatre, music, and education.

The Redhouse After School Teachers will be responsible for working alongside other Redhouse Ed. Dept. staff, under the direct supervision of his/her/their Supervisor. He/she/they may occasionally be required to communicate and work alongside the School District Partnership Director, as well as Redhouse’s Director of Education in order to ensure quality instruction is being delivered to students.

The Redhouse After School Teachers will also be primarily responsible for planning and teaching education courses within the curriculum set by Redhouse’s Director of Education and school district administration. In addition to teaching assignments, instructional staff attend departmental, faculty, and instructional meetings, and participate in the overall development of Redhouse education programming.
