Pippin Auditions
Rehearsals and show dates run from March 16 – April 26, 2026
Pippin – Redhouse’s Theatre Experience Series engages adults and teens of all abilities from our surrounding communities in immersive, process-oriented theatre productions that celebrate the diverse community of Central New York. As part of this series, our partnership with Arc of Onondaga will be celebrating its 12th year! Artists from Arc of Onondaga, students, and local professional actors come together annually to bring audiences a story that promotes true inclusiveness.

We are seeking submissions for the role of Leading Player.
Role Description:
The Leading Player is the ultimate “ring leader”, masterfully charming, manipulative, and highly theatrical. A true chameleon, this character guides Pippin through his story and attempts to intervene at the conclusion. The Leading Player is obsessed with delivering an unforgettable performance for the audience. Strong movement and dance ability strongly preferred.
Vocal Range:
- Bottom: Db3
- Top: Ab4
Submission Requirements:
- Please submit 16-32 bars of a song of your choosing that is stylistically appropriate to Pippin and showcases your vocal range.
- If available, include a dance reel or a link to a video demonstrating movement or dance ability (optional, not required).
This production is open to non-traditional casting. *Also please note that this production is presented in collaboration with Arc of Onondaga, so performers are asked to serve as a positive mentor for our Arc artists.
Additional Audition Information
Local Non-Equity performers cast in Pippin are paid a stipend between $100-$150/week depending on the role. Performers cast in Babelfest will be paid a $150 stipend.
Student (under age 18) performers cast in a production are volunteers, but can list their role as a professional credit on their resume.
Local AEA performers cast in Pippin will receive the Tier 3 AEA Guest Artist minimum weekly salary for both rehearsal and performance weeks.
Non-Equity performers that live outside of Central New York cast will be provided round-trip travel to and from Syracuse and housing for the duration of their stay, with a stipend between $400-$450/week depending on the role for both rehearsal and performance weeks.
AEA performers that live outside of Central New York cast will be provided round-trip travel to and from Syracuse, housing for the duration of your stay, the Tier 3 AEA Guest Artist minimum weekly salary and per diem for both rehearsal and performance weeks.
