General Audition Information

Parking: The City Center Parking Garage is unavailable for parking. Please find street parking and enter through our front entrance.

Pippin – Redhouse’s Theatre Experience Series engages adults and teens of all abilities from our surrounding communities in immersive, process-oriented theatre productions that celebrate the diverse community of Central New York. As part of this series, our partnership with Arc of Onondaga will be celebrating its 12th year! Artists from Arc of Onondaga, students, and local professional actors come together annually to bring audiences a story that promotes true inclusiveness.

If You Plan to Attend the Local In-Person Audition at Redhouse in Syracuse
Please review the entire audition page. Then fill out a form to schedule your audition appointment. Once done you will be emailed an audition appointment date and time within 48 hours. In-person auditions are intended for local performers that do not require housing. Housing is not provided for performers cast from local in-person auditions.
Please note that productions will be cast from the initial auditions and there will be no callbacks scheduled.
For Those That Can’t Attend In-Person Auditions
We encourage you to submit your audition virtually. Please follow the instructions below to submit a virtual audition.
- Be sure to slate your name and where you’re from at the beginning of your submission video
- Label your submission video file as “First and Last Name Audition”
- Label your headshot file as “First and Last Name Headshot”
- Label your resume file/document as “First and Last Name Resume”
- Please be sure your email address is on your resume
The deadline for virtual submissions is Monday, October 6th, 2025
What to Prepare
Please prepare 1 minute to 90 seconds (16-32 bars) of a cut from Pippin here. and a short contrasting contemporary monologue (1 minute or less).
Additional Audition Information
Local Non-Equity performers cast in Pippin are paid a stipend between $100-$150/week depending on the role. Performers cast in Babelfest will be paid a $150 stipend.
Student (under age 18) performers cast in a production are volunteers, but can list their role as a professional credit on their resume.
Local AEA performers cast in Pippin will receive the Tier 3 AEA Guest Artist minimum weekly salary for both rehearsal and performance weeks.
Non-Equity performers that live outside of Central New York cast will be provided round-trip travel to and from Syracuse and housing for the duration of their stay, with a stipend between $400-$450/week depending on the role for both rehearsal and performance weeks.
AEA performers that live outside of Central New York cast will be provided round-trip travel to and from Syracuse, housing for the duration of your stay, the Tier 3 AEA Guest Artist minimum weekly salary and per diem for both rehearsal and performance weeks.
